Deanery Consultation

The Southern Area Mission and Pastoral Committee has given Romsey Deanery a period of eighteen months (to June 2018) to develop a vision for the future. This will be a time of prayerful consultation and conversations with opinion formers in churches and the wider community about what the church should be and do to act out the Mission of Jesus in the next 10 years. The aim is to start from discerning our vocation and then consider what resources will be needed to deliver that.

An outline timetable is attached here:  Romsey Deanery Consultation.

The first of three planned consultation meetings took place on Saturday 25 March at Romsey Church Rooms with Leigh Rampton from Portsmouth Diocese’s Council for Social Responsibility. All clergy, churchwardens and PCC members from around the Deanery were invited.

Deanery Prayer

Loving God,

We give you thanks for Romsey Deanery – for its diversity and richness. We thank you for those faithful people who have built, sustained and shared the faith over countless centuries.

Grant to us your wisdom as we seek to continue to share your gospel, and expand our outreach to all who live in this deanery.

Give us grace and help us to seek your face and heart, that all we do will be to the advancement of your kingdom and the Glory of your name.

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
